National award winning filmmaker Oinam Goutam’s Manipuri film, Pandam Amada (In Pursuit of) will have its world premiere at the 18th Dhaka International Film Festival, 2020.
The film festival is scheduled to be held at Dhaka in Bangladesh from January 11 to 19 next year.

The film has been selected among 15 films to be screened in the Children’s Film Section, one of the important segments of the festival.
One film among the 15 films would be selected by audience vote for the Best Juvenile Film Audience award.
Festival director Ahmed Muzraba Zamal said the objective behind introducing a Children’s film section from the very start was to address unprivileged children and their families who might not be aware of their rights.

“The section encourages school children, their parents and their teachers to come and gain from the films and be aware of their rights,” he said.
The film Pandam Amada revolves around a boy who is innocent, sporty and kind hearted.
In pursuit of his father’s wishes of getting good education in a reputed school after Class X, he was accidentally exposed to an unfavourable academic atmosphere as he falls into the group of bad company or friends.
The film tells how parental skills are important – to give children a sense of security, acknowledge their feelings, be approachable, to give quality time to them.
Bonny Takhelmayum is the lead character of the film which is the fifth Manipuri Digital Feature film certified by the Central Board of Film Certification.
The film is produced by Sarokons under the banner of Takhel Films.
