Awaiting a prompt response from law enforcement authorities, Nahakpam Shanta, the Organising Secretary of the United Committee Manipur, emphasized the need for intervention by the state government to ensure that the culprits face appropriate consequences for their actions.

The UCM office is located at Lamphelpat, in the Meitei-dominated Imphal West district of Manipur.
The incident took place at around 12:30 am on Saturday (February 24).
One killed in bomb blast in Imphal’s DM University complex
Amid heightened security measures, a tragic incident unfolded on Friday (February 23) night at the Dhanamanjuri (DM) University complex at Imphal in Manipur.
The bomb blast resulted in one fatality and another individual sustaining serious injuries in a blast.
The explosion, suspected to be caused by an improvised explosive device (IED), occurred within the premises of a specific student organization.
Initial assessments indicate that the intended target was the office of the influential All Manipur Student Union (AMSU).
Both victims were promptly transported to a private hospital for urgent medical attention.
Regrettably, one of them succumbed to their injuries, according to reliable sources.
In addition to the blast, reports have emerged of arson at the premises of a civil society organization within the vicinity.
The Manipur police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
No group, thus far, has taken responsibility for the blast of the improvised explosive device (IED).
The deceased person has been identified as 24-yeat-old Oinam Kenjit.
On the other hand, the injured person has been identified as Salam Micheal.
