Manipur police has arrested two cadres of banned rebel outfit with arms and ammunition. They were arrested on Saturday during two separate counter-insurgency operations launched by security forces in Manipur.
One of the cadres belongs to the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), while the other is a member of Kanglei Yoel Kanna Lup (KYKL), the sources added.
The UNLF cadre was nabbed during a joint operation launched by Imphal East Police commandos and troops of 30 Assam Rifles under the Lamlai police station Imphal East district.
The UNLF cadre has been identified as H Ranjit (45). A .38 pistol with a magazine loaded with five live rounds was recovered from him.
The KYKL cadre was nabbed by a Bishnupur Police commandos and troops of 31 Assam Rifles during a search operation under Kumbi police station of Bishnupur district on November 26, the police said.
The nabbed rebel was identified as Kh Nanao (32).
A 9 mm pistol with a magazine loaded with three live rounds was found on him.
