A student of the Manipur University has tested Covid-19 positive days after he appeared for an exam at the varsity’s campus.

The student appeared for the BVoc fifth semester examination at room number 437 of the New Social Sciences Block of the university on April 6, Registrar W Chandbabu Singh said on Friday.

Issuing a circular, the varsity asked all the students who were in that room to undergo self-quarantine for a week.

The registrar also asked all the employees and students of the varsity to follow the Covid-related guidelines properly.

Manipur has been witnessing a gradual increase in the daily caseload during the last few weeks, with the figures touching two digits in the last three days.

The state recorded 12 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, of which two are air passengers.

A total of 91,272 persons including 31,904 healthcare workers have been vaccinated with Covishield till  Friday evening.
