Imphal: Manipur Police arrested two alleged members of the outlawed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-Apunba City Meitei) during an operation in Thoubal district on Wednesday, according to an official report released on Thursday.
The arrested individuals, identified as Lairenlakpam Thoiba alias Sanajaoba Meitei (26) and Singam Kabikanta alias Thoiba Meitei (32), were apprehended alongside a cache of weapons and ammunition.

The seized items include two 9mm pistols with magazines containing 15 live rounds.
The suspects were travelling in an SUV at the time of their arrest.

A case has been registered at the Yairipok police station.
The report further highlights that these arrests occurred three days after the KCP Apunba advisory committee reportedly appointed Paikhomba alias Father as their new chief commander.
However, the whereabouts of the newly appointed leader remain unknown.
