Imphal: In a major success, the Indian Army prevented a potential explosion by safely diffusing three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) found in Manipur‘s Imphal East district, Defence officials said on Sunday.

Alert soldiers detected the IEDs placed along the road connecting Nongdam Tangkhul and Etham Tangkhul villages, near Maphou Dam, during a routine patrol, said a Defence PRO in a statement.

The Army cordoned off the area to ensure public safety. A Bomb Disposal Squad then arrived at the location and successfully neutralized the IEDs, the statement added.

This timely action by the Indian Army prevented potential casualties and ensured the safety of local residents. The security forces remain vigilant and committed to maintaining peace and stability in Manipur, it added.
