On Tuesday, search operations were also conducted at Hatta in Imphal East district, Elangbam Leikai sector of Nambul river bank under Imphal West district, a village in Bishnupur district.
Steps have been taken up in view of the total shut-down called by insurgent groups in Manipur from 1 am to 6.30 pm of August 15 to boycott Independence Day celebrations in the region, according to reports.

On the other hand, altogether 15 police personnel/officers have been selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service 2017 and Presidents’ Police Medal for Distinguished Service, according to a press release.
The awardees of Medal for Meritorious Services and Distinguished Services would be honoured at the Independence Day celebration on August 15, said Superintendent of Police (NAB) W Basu Singh, who is the public relations officer of Manipur Police Department in the release.
Inspector Rk Tejbir and Inspector Shyamchoron Singh Asem would be conferred the Presidents’ Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Moreover, 13 personnel/ officers have been selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service 2017. They are DIG IK Muivah, Deputy Commandant Th Bijananda Singh, Assistant Commandant A Basanta Sharma, Inspector Pamreingam Longpinao, Inspector Chabungbam Subol Singh, Inspector Nongthombam Ingocha Singh, Head Constable Y Roshankumar Singh, Havildar Md Rashid AH, Havildar S Sanatomba Singh, Havildar Md Anuwar Shah, Rifleman T Abhiram Singh, Rifleman Md Kayamuddin and Rifleman L Miralkumar Singh.
