Sensation prevailed at Moreh, the border town on Manipur, on Monday after locals along the Indo-Myanmar border area discovered a rocket propeller bomb planted under a tractor, agencies reports claimed quoting police sources.
According to reports, normal life came to a grinding halt at this commercial border town after the recovery of the bomb.
The bomb was detected at around 10:30 am at Moreh Bazaar Ward number 6 locality, which is around 200 metres from Moreh police station in Tengnoupal district, reports claimed quoting police sources.
Immediately after, the police cordoned off the area and the bomb squad of the state police force from Imphal rushed to the border town, located 110 km from the state capital, to defuse the explosive.
The bomb squad safely defused the bomb at around 2:45 pm at Holenphai area, around three km from the site where it was found, reports added.
