Manipur: Security forces recover arms cache in Churachandpur

Imphal: In a successful operation, a joint team of central and state forces in Manipur discovered a hidden cache of arms and ammunition in Churachandpur district.

This was informed by the Manipur police on Friday (June 14).

Acting on intelligence inputs about miscreants hiding in the area, the combined team of Assam Rifles and Manipur police conducted search operations and area domination at the fringe and vulnerable areas of Tuinom village in Churachandpur district of Manipur.

The four-hour operation culminated in the recovery of significant weaponry, including one .303 rifle, three 12 mm single-barrel guns, two improvised heavy mortars, and thirteen live rounds of ammunition.

Despite the success in recovering the weapons, the miscreants managed to escape before they could be apprehended.

The recovered arms and ammunition have been handed over to the Manipur police for further investigation and disposal.
