Manipur reported three more deaths due to COVID19 infections in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of deaths in the state to 127.
“In the last 24 hours, three persons aged 70 years(female, Bishnupur), 58 years (male, Noney) and 35 years (male, Bishnupur) expired at Raj Medicity, RIMS and JNIMS respectively,” said Covid19 common control room in a press release.
“The cumulative number of deaths is 127,” it said.
In the last 24 hours, 339 persons from the general population and 6 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases, the release said.
The new COVID19 positive cases were confirmed at 24 testing facilities in the state.
The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West(154), Imphal East (71), Thoubal (31), Jiribam (1), Ukhrul (2), Chandel(4), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (25), Churachandpur (17), Tengnoupal (4), Senapati (6) and Bishnupur (23) districts, the release said.
Seven are returnees while the rest are locals without any significant travel history, it said adding they are being shifted to the COVID care facilities.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
In the past 24 hours, 196 persons were discharged from 17 COVID care facilities after they were found COVID19 free on RT PCR test, it added.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 16,621 while the numbers of active and recovered cases are 4,101 and 12,393 respectively.
The recovery rate is 74.56%, it added.
