Manipur has registered 100 new positive cases, including 43 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and 57 from general population, on Monday.
In the past 24 hours, 57, including 37 male and 20 female, from the general population and 43 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as COVID19 positive cases, said Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, additional director and spokesperson of the state health department on Monday evening.
The new cases were confirmed at Viral Research and Diagnosis Laboratories of RIMS, JNIMS, Babina Diagnostics and other testing centres in the past 24 hours.
The new cases are from Churachandpur, Chandel, Thoubal, Imphal West, Imphal East, Kangpokpi, Kamjong, Kakching and Senapati.
Seven out of the general population are returnees from other states and the rest 50 are locals without any significant travel history, said a statement issued by the health department.
They are being shifted to the COVID care facilities, it added.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the past 24 hours, 78 persons were discharged after they tested negative for COVID19 during RT-PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 3,853 including 876 CAPF while the cumulative number of discharged cases is 2,122 including 150 CAPF, it added.
The cumulative number of active cases is 1,720 including 726 CAPF.
“The recovery rate is 55.07%,” it said.
Till date, the total death toll due to COVID19 related cases in the state is 11.
