The police in Manipur have arrested an active cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREPAK-Progressive).
The PREPAK-Progressive rebel was apprehended from Imphal West district.
The militant was reportedly arrested from Lairikyengbam Makha Leikai area under the Lamphel police station.
The police have seized huge quantity of IED (Improvised Explosive Device) materials from the possession of the arrested rebel.

One set of IED fitted in a tin of fish cane, one airgun rifle, four PEK cakes, three electronic circuits, one remote control device, three detonators, batteries, soldering equipment used in assembling IED bombs and a mobile phone were recovered from the possession of the arrested rebel.
According to reports, the rebel has confessed to his involvement in an IED attack at Manipur Chief Minister’s bungalow gate in 2013 and also a restaurant in Imphal.
