Imphal: The Manipur Police table tennis and badminton teams brought laurels to the state with a strong performance at the 2nd All India Police Badminton & Table Tennis Cluster Championships 2025โ€“26, held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from May 9 to 13.

Organised by the Uttar Pradesh Police, the high-profile championship featured 42 teams and around 1,400 participants from various state police forces, the BSF, and other CAPFs.

The Manipur Police table tennis team secured the Overall First Runners-Up position in both the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s categories, winning a total of 19 medals, including 5 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze.

The badminton team also delivered a strong performance, securing 2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

The contingent, led by Asana Sarangthem, IPS, Commandant of 2nd Manipur Rifles, was praised for its discipline and dedication, highlighting that Manipur Police excels not only in law enforcement but also in sports.

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh congratulated the team through social media.
