Four mobile phones and three Aadhaar cards were seized from the arrested individuals.

Imphal: The Manipur Police, in coordination with the Assam Rifles, arrested four alleged cadres of underground outfits in separate operations across Imphal East and Imphal West districts over the past 36 hours, officials reported on Tuesday.

An active member of the banned Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL), identified as Naorem Nanao Singh, also known as Inao (34), of Tejpur Awang Leikai, Kakching district, was apprehended from Mayang Imphal Konchak Makha Leikai under Mayang Imphal Police Station, Imphal West district.

In a separate operation, Waikhom Khellen Meitei (51) of Lambal Awang Leikai, a cadre of the proscribed People’s Liberation Army (PLA) under Lamsang Police Station, Imphal West district, was arrested from his residence.

Meanwhile, two insurgents linked to the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-Taibangnganba)โ€”Ayekpam Robindro Meitei, also called Parihan (28), and Thokchom Abung Singh, also known as Lanchangba (23) were arrested from Pukhao Naharup village, Imphal East district.

Authorities also seized four mobile phones and three Aadhaar cards from the arrested individuals. All four have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal proceedings.
