In Churachandpur, police arrested 37-year-old Chingmuanchin Samte from Khupgou village on Monday and seized 45 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar from her possession.
During interrogation, Samte reportedly provided information that led police to her alleged supplier, Paumuonthang Tungnung, a 33-year-old Myanmar national residing in Boljol village. He was subsequently arrested.
Police also seized an electronic weighing machine, three mobile phones, a TVS Jupiter scooter and Rs 39,550 in cash during the operation.

Meanwhile, Imphal East Commando personnel conducted an anti-narcotics operation near the Muslim Girlsโ Hostel on Hatta JNIMS Road, acting on specific intelligence inputs.
The operation led to the arrest of 29-year-old Md. Amzad Khan, alias Mumu, from his rented residence. Police recovered two plastic bottles containing approximately 62 grams of suspected heroin No. 4 powder, along with six Tramadol capsules.
According to officials, Khan stated during questioning that he had obtained the heroin from a supplier based in Churachandpur and intended to distribute it among local users in the Hatta area of Imphal East.
