Imphal: A substantial cache of weapons and explosives were recovered in a joint operation against militants at the interdistrict of Churachandpur and Bishnupur in Manipur on Tuesday, official reports said on Wednesday.
Upon receiving intelligence inputs, a joint team of the central and state forces has launched a comprehensive all-out operation to combat the ongoing threat posed by militants at the vulnerable locations of Thoiroilok ravine and its adjoining area in Churachandpur district adjoining Bishnupur district.

The comprehensive all-out operation that lasted around two hours on Tuesday morning led to the recovery of weapons and explosives.
The recovered cache included two locally-made Pumpi barrels, two locally-made pump ammunition, two Gomia power gel 25mmx125g, two electric detonators, three locally-made improvised hand grenades and a 9mm Pistol along with a magazine.
Though no arrest has been made in the operation jointly carried out by the central and state police, an illegally constructed camp was dismantled, the report said.

The source further added that the seized items were handed over to the concerned police station for further relevant legal proceedings.
