Imphal: A 15-year-old boy who had been missing for the past week was found dead at a secluded location under Kakching Police Station in Manipur’s Kakching district, officials reported on Friday.
The body of the teenager was discovered in a forest area near Idega at Sora under Kakching Police Station on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased, a resident of Thoubal district, had been staying with relatives in Sora, family members said. He reportedly left the house on May 1 and had been missing since then.
Locals discovered the body on Thursday afternoon. A team of Manipur Police and forensic experts rushed to the spot and examined the body.
Police registered a case of unnatural death.
However, family members stated that they do not intend to file a complaint and later took custody of the body from the police to perform the last rites.
