Manipur minister Okram Henry has appealed to all the skilled and unskilled workers of the Municipal councils of the state to call off the ongoing agitation against non-payment of pending wages.

Municipal administration, housing & urban development (MAHUD) minister Henry made the appeal during his visit to the office of Nambol Municipal Council on Thursday.

During his visit, the minister met the skilled and unskilled workers, who protested in front of the office of Nambol Municipal Council.

He also held a meeting at the conference hall of the Nambol Municipal Council.

Following a meeting with the representatives of the agitating members, the minister stated that any issue could be resolved through dialogue.

He said the government will try its best to pay the wages of the skilled and unskilled workers of the Municipal councils at the earliest.

The minister also chaired a review meeting with the chairperson and councillors of Nambol Municipal Council.

During the meeting, the councillors shared their grievances with the minister.

After patiently hearing the hardships faced by the Nambol Municipal Council, the minister assured that the issues would be sorted soon with the cooperation of the councillors.

Nambol MLA, N Loken Singh, OSD of MAHUD department, executive officer of Nambol Municipal Council and others were also present during the meeting.
