The Manipur Government has launched a website to provide the latest and authenticated information on coronavirus pandemic.
Chief minister N Biren Singh launched the website (www.mncovid19.in) in Imphal on Tuesday.
An Android mobile application, MNCOVID-19, has also been developed.
On March 29, chief minister Singh had launched a website (www.tengbang.in) to reach out to citizens of Manipur who are stranded outside the State.
The website is also integrated with a payment gateway so that the persons who want to donate to the Chief Minister’s COVID-19 Relief Fund, which was created last week, can donate through the online mode.
The website was launched in view of reports that many citizens from Manipur, mostly students, were stranded in various States after the Union Ministry of Home Affairs suspended all flights, trains and passenger movement by road for 21 days.
The chief minister’s Secretariat has resolved to transfer Rs 2,000 from the Chief Minister’s COVID-19 Relief Fund to bank accounts of those stranded outside the State due to the lockdown.
The stranded citizens may check the website (www.tengbang.com).
Informing this through a Facebook post, Chief Minister Biren Singh said, “On this World Health Day, let us all take a pledge to stay at home and stay safe. I also salute all doctors, nurses, paramedics & other health and security personnel who are at the forefront in our undaunted challenge to #COVID19 outbreak.”
