Manipur karate team won 13 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals at the 16th All India Budokan Open Karate Championship, Suman Cup 2018.
The championship was held at Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh from February 16. It concluded today.

The team consisted of 12 boys and 4 girls.
The players who bagged gold medals in the individual kata events for boys and girls are L Tussar (U-5 yr), H Nongdamba (10 yrs), H Lanchenba (8 yrs), S Jamesbond (12 yrs) and L Shiwani (4 yrs).
L Bhusan (7 yrs), L Drushan (6 yrs) and Misna S (8 yr ) finished second in the individual kata event finals to win the silver medals. S Athouba (4 yr) claimed a bronze medal in the same event.

In the team kata event, Lanchenba H, L Tussar and Athouba S added another gold medal in Manipur’s tally while girls team comprising of L Shivani, A Asha and Misna S secured a bronze medal. In the kumite event for boys, Lanchenba H (30-35 kg), Ch Pravin (45-50 kg), W Irabanta (50-55 kg), S Albis (35-40 kg), Athouba S (25-30 kg) emerged champions to lay their hands on the gold medals. Misna S (40-45 kg) also added a gold medal in the kumite event for girls while S Priya finished second to win a silver medal.
H Nongdamba (30-35 kg), L Punsiba (40-45 kg) and Kh Langamba claimed bronze medal in the kumite event for boys.
