Security forces, including the Indian Army and Manipur Police, immediately launched a coordinated search operation. Their swift action resulted in the safe rescue of JCO Singh by 6:30 pm on the same day.

He is under police protection at Waikhong Police Station (near Kakching) in Thoubal district. Manipur police are investigating the incident.

This abduction marks the fourth such incident since ethnic clashes erupted in Manipur last year.

While the motive remains unclear, initial reports suggest a possible link to extortion, as Singh’s family had faced similar threats in the past.
