Jiribam: Following a bomb blast at Jakuradhor village in Manipur’s Jiribam district, house-to-house search operations and area domination were conducted to maintain stability, according to a report released by Manipur police control room on Saturday.
The blast targeted a house belonging to a Meetei family at Narayanpur under Jakuradhore Part 1 village on June 13 at around 1 am.

In response to the escalating tensions due to ongoing communal violence, a joint team of Manipur police and central security forces launched these operations.
The team searched approximately 30-40 houses in Jakuradhor Part-II village under Borobekra Police Station and verified the identities of roughly 140 individuals. The report confirms there were no further incidents during the search.
The ethnic violence in Jiribam district has displaced around 1,000 people since June 6, 2024, as their homes were set on fire.

To address this, strict security measures have been implemented in vulnerable areas, including security convoys on sensitive roads to ensure safe movement. Additionally, 124 checkpoints have been established across Manipur’s hill and valley regions.
