BJP national president JP Nadda on Wednesday said that Manipur has great potential to attain self-sufficiency and achieve the goal of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
Nadda said this while virtually addressing the state executive meeting of Manipur BJP in Imphal on Wednesday

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh and several party leaders were present on the occasion.
“I would request the Manipur government to try and implement how local products can become a national brand, supporting the idea of vocal for local,” said J P Nadda.

“This in turn will help Manipur to achieve self-sufficiency,” Nadda said.
“Under the capable leadership of Modiji Northeast India has been in the mainstream, as far as development, connectivity, education and tourism are concerned,” he further said.
The BJP national president also highlighted asked the state authorities and all stakeholders to continue their war against drugs in the state.
Nadda also applauded Manipur for having the best police station in India and said that it has earned ths positive because of effective policing in the state.
Regarding central schemes, he said that Manipur stands third in terms of beneficiaries under the Matru Vandana Yojana.
While the names of 48,000 beneficiaries have been registered, 20,000 people from the state have already reaped the benefits of the scheme.
A total of 10 lakh new bank accounts have been opened under the Jan Dhan Yojana in Manipur.
Moreover, the state received 1.56 lakh gas connections under the Ujjwala Yojana.
