IMPHAL: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh vowed to dedicate and sacrifice efforts to foster inclusive, progressive and sustainable development for future generations in the sensitive border state.

Speaking as the chief guest at an International Yoga Day event, held at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium in Imphal, under the theme “Yoga for Self and Society”, Manipur CM Biren Singh said that his government is committed to safeguard the indigenous population and address the pressing challenges.

The Manipur chief minister highlighted the state government efforts to combat external threats and support the welfare of future generations.

“My government always opens the door for the welfare of the upcoming generation at any cost,” Singh stated.

Manipur CM Biren Singh referenced India’s stance at the recent United Nations Human Rights Council meeting, where the increased influx of people from Myanmar and the rise in transnational crimes, such as drug and human trafficking, were highlighted as major concerns.

“India has made it clear that the challenges posed by these issues continue to remain an area of grave concern,” he said.
