Imphal: Unprecedented security measures have been taken up in view of the proposed visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to review the law and order situation and election campaigns in Manipur on April 15, 2024.
In his whirlwind election campaigns, Amit Shah will arrive at Imphal from Tripura and will return to the national capital on the same day. During his short visit to Imphal, the BJP national leader Amit Shah will address a BJP election meeting at Hapta Kangjeibung, Imphal East.

BJP is setting up one candidate in the inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat election slated on April 19.
In an order, Th Kirankumar, District, Magistrate, Imphal West District states that in pursuance of the proposed visit of Amit Shah, Union Home Minister to Manipur on April 15, 2024, any kind of drone or remotely piloted vehicles (RPV) or of its kind is strictly prohibited from flying in the entire route.
The route would be around 5 km starting from Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal to Sanjenhong, Imphal within the revenue jurisdiction of the Imphal West District only.

Further, it is also informed that drones or any of its kind should not fly over the restricted areas marked as a permanent red zone by the state government, i.e, Raj Bhavan, Manipur, Chief Minister’s Secretariate Office, complex, Imphal, Manipur Assembly complex, Manipur, Civisl Secretariat Babupara, Police headquarters, Babpara, Bire Tikdendraji International Airport, Imphal. Defaulters shall be viewed seriously as per law, it warns.
Meanwhile, BJP, Manipur Pradesh is getting ready for a warm welcome for the visiting BJP national leader at Imphal airport. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sarda Devi will lead the BJP workers at Imphal to welcome the visiting leader.
Meanwhile, a total of 130 Checkpoints were installed in different areas, especially in the Imphal areas. Police detained 255 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the State.
