Manipur: Female insurgent among two arrested, one rescued

Imphal: A joint operation by state and central security forces in the Imphal East district of Manipur resulted in the arrest of two suspected Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) insurgents, including a female cadre, and the rescue of an abducted individual.

Acting on intelligence, the security forces raided a suspected location at Sawombung on Wednesday.

While the abducted person was safely recovered, several insurgents managed to escape.

Maibam Priya Devi (31) and Konjengbam Narendra (31) were subsequently arrested.

A four-wheeler vehicle believed to be involved in the abduction was also seized.

The arrested individuals and recovered vehicles were handed over to Manipur police for further investigation. The identity of the rescued person was not disclosed.
