Pineapple farmers of Khousabung area in Manipur’s Churachandpur district under the State Level Manipur Pineapple Festival Committee donated 2000 pineapples to Chief Minister’s COVID-19 Relief on Friday.

Confirming this in a Facebook post, Chief Minister N Biren Singh wrote, “Many thanks to the villagers and leaders of Khousabung area of Churachandpur District for donating a large number of Pineapples, grown in their villages, to the CM Relief Fund for COVID-19.”

The farmers handed the pineapples to Chief Minister N Biren Singh at Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Imphal.

The farmers’ delegation was led by Seilenmang Khongsai, Chairman MPFC and Hon’ble Member, ADC Churachandpur, Khaipao Haokip, former Chairman, ADCC, Lalhmangpui Fimate, Member of ADCC, Shri Paukholal Gangte, Chief of Bunglon, Khaizathang Gangte, Chief of Khousabung and Chungjalam Kom, Chief of Phunchongjang and farmers of the area were also present during the solemn function.

The Chief Minister has expressed his gratitude to the pineapple farmers for their goodwill and concern.

Earlier in the day, a private company in Imphal called Romi Bag Industries has donated 100 locally made PPEs(personnel protective equipment) for donating to the frontline COVID warriors, to the state chief minister.
