Imphal: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen on Tuesday presented certificates to trainees who completed a skill development programme organised by The Art of Living.

The programme, sponsored by Kipgen, provided vocational training in areas including tailoring and mobile phone repair to local youth, with the stated aim of promoting self-reliance.

Addressing the certificate distribution ceremony at the Office of the Deputy Chief Minister, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (ADC), Kipgen stressed the importance of sustainability, self-empowerment and continuous learning for young people.

She said the skills acquired through such programmes could help youth build greater independence and contribute to the regionโ€™s socio-economic development.

Kipgen presented completion certificates to the successful trainees during the ceremony.

The event began with an invocation prayer by Ginthang Kipgen, followed by a report on the programmeโ€™s progress by project manager Chongoulen Hangshing.

Beneficiaries Kimneihoi Haokip and Lhingdeikim Kipgen spoke about their experiences and said the training had helped them move towards greater self-reliance.

Trainee representative Hoipineng/Phaldeichong Khongsai delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with a group photograph and refreshments.
