COVID19 positive

The total number of persons tested positive for COVID19 in Manipur has increased to 311 while the number of active cases is 248.

According to the update by COVID 19 common control room of the state government, during the day, 868 samples were tested at the VRDLs (Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratory), RIMS (Regional Institute of Medical Sciences) and all samples were found COVID 19 negative till 11.45 pm on Tuesday night.

However, 5 persons tested positive for COVID19 at VRDL, JNIMS (Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences).

The infected persons are from Imphal East district.

All are returnees from other states.

“They are stable and are being shifted to COVID Care facilities in Imphal,” the COVID 19 common control room said in a statement.

Stating that all necessary precautionary measures are in place, the control room informed that the total number of tests conducted in the state has gone up to 19,854.

The rate of test per million population has now improved to 6966.

The positivity rate is 1.56 percent.

Another statement of the COVID 19 common control room, which was circulated to the media in the evening on Wednesday, said 2 more females, aged around 21 and 25 years, were confirmed as COVID 19 positive cases at the VRDL, JNIMS.

The two females are from Pherzawl district of the state and they are said to be returnees from other states.

Informing that their health conditions are stable, it said they are being shifted to COVID Care facilities in Imphal.

It also added that the district authority has taken up all necessary control measures like containment and contact tracing.

The total number of positive cases has increased to 311 and the number of active cases to 248.

The number of recovered cases is 63.

So far, 2,60,097 persons have been screened at various checking centres opened across the state.
