The committee has taken up the mantle to bring an amicable solution between the stakeholders, he added.

The committee is being headed by former Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam as the chairman, R K Anand Singh as the convener and Konthoujam Govindas, K Ranjit Singh, Ngairangbam Bijoy Singh, I Ibobi Singh, Kh Devabarta Singh and Hareshwar Goswami as members.

Chairman of the committee, Gaikhangam said Congress being a responsible political party will not remain silent when the state university has been affected.

He also asserted that the formation and functioning of the committee is not political and urged the people not to politicize it.

This is a genuine and sincere initiative of the MPCC to bring an amicable solution to the on-going impasse, he further said.

The committee has already consulted Manipur University Students’ Union and Manipur University Teachers’ Association and had made a field visit on Tuesday to the university campus.
