Imphal: For the first time after becoming the 13th Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended a public function, interacting with students in Imphal East district on Friday.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh joined the livestreamed ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 from New Delhi at Wangkhei High School, Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi, Imphal, on February 6, 2026.

Pariksha Pe Charcha is an annual event, launched in 2018, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacts with students, teachers, and parents to help reduce exam stress.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi interacted with students from across the country, discussing strategies for approaching board and competitive examinations. He advised students that effective time management is key to alleviating pressure and performing well.

Speaking at the programme, the Chief Minister said it was part of a nationwide initiative aimed at motivating and supporting students ahead of their examinations.

He added that the observance reflected Manipurโ€™s alignment with the national effort to promote student well-being and a positive approach towards exams.

On arrival, the Chief Minister and other ministers were accorded a warm welcome by the schoolโ€™s teachers and students. The Chief Minister also interacted with the young students during the event.

The live telecast was attended by Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Thokchom Satyabrata Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, Cabinet Ministers Konthoujam Govindas Singh and Khuraijam Loken Singh, MLA of Thanga Constituency Tongbram Robindro Singh, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, senior officials from the Department of Education (Schools), Samagra Shiksha officials, teachers, and students, among others.
