Manipur CM holds interaction programme with officers of organized services

Manipur Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren had an interaction with the officers of organized services in the state on Sunday.

More than 500 top officials of the state attended the interaction programme with the Chief Minister held at the City Convention Centre at the Palace gate in Imphal.

Seven cabinet ministers, MLAs, Autonomous district councils representatives, Chief Secretary,DGP Manipur also attended the interaction session.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister N Biren informed that the main objective of the programme is to explore new ideas and thoughts to help the implementation of government schemes and projects so that it reached the general public in the ground.

Seeking help and cooperation from the government officials in the field, N Biren also sought suggestions from the officials for smooth implementation of the “Go to Villages” mission which is scheduled to be launched next month.

Expressing the need to solve the grievances of the people while also taking up other related schemes, he made it clear that the new government’s approach will be purely “human oriented approach.”

In a recent survey, the state authority had detected about 40,000 school drop-out students in the state.

Highlighting the development programmes of the new government including the construction of roads, river dredging programs and construction of women’s markets in the hill districts, he also announced that the DC and concerned individuals involved in the construction of women market in Churachandpur district will be awarded for their ability to complete the market complex.

The award will be presented on Civil Services Day in Imphal on April 21.

He also expressed his desire to plant large scale agar trees in the areas where the government machineries recently destroyed poppy plantation.

More than 25 senior officials including women civil service officers and Indian Administrative Services raised various types of questions relating to the implementation of the government schemes and projects besides sharing constructive suggestions and opinions for maintaining a good and public friendly governance in the state.
