Manipur CM discuss NE development with Kiren Rijiju

Imphal: Union Minister and senior BJP leader Kiren Rijiju met Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh along with Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Govindas Konthoujam to discuss developmental projects including sporting events in northeastern states.

The meeting was held in Delhi on Sunday and was also attended by Vineet Joshi, Chief Secretary of Manipur.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh, along with Govindas Konthoujam and other officials during the meeting in the national capital urged Kiren Rijiju to take various measures including advancing major development projects in the northeastern state, especially in violence-hit Manipur.

According to an official statement, the union minister was urged upon the various projects including the sporting events under the purview of the Prime Minister and Ministry of Minority Affairs.

During the meeting, the leaders also deliberated on developing a world-class football stadium in Manipur to nurture talent and uplift sportspersons, as stated in the Chief Minister’s post on X.

Later, N Biren also held a meeting with officials from the Public Works Department (PWD)  to discuss the execution of various developmental projects.

The meeting focused on strategies to promote growth and sustainability in both urban and rural areas of the state.

N Biren Singh after the meeting said that the “productive discussion” was aimed at enhancing development across sectors.

“Had a productive discussion on effective execution of developmental works to enhance growth and sustenance in both urban and rural sectors, while deliberating on new projects which are in the pipeline”, he said.
