Imphal: A total of 133 sport-persons who brought laurels for India and Manipur would be provided with state government jobs suitable to them.
This was announced by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh while speaking as chief guest at the Players’ Day (Sannaroisingi Numit) observation 2024 at Indoor Hall in Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal on Sunday.

Chief Minister N Singh said that the state government offers a post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Naorem Roshibina Devi (Female Wushu player from Manipur) who was presented with the prestigious Arjuna Award 2023 by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 9, 2024.

This is encouraging in her efforts in the field of sports which she is trying to enter in the forthcoming Olympic games eyeing a medal.

Naorem Roshibina Devi has won one Silver Medal in the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China in 2023; One Silver Medal in the World Wushu Championship in Texas, United States of America in 2023; and one Gold Medal in the Moscow Wushu Stars Championship in Moscow, Russia in 2023.
Encouraging the sportspersons, the CM further announced that a total of 132 players – both males and females who won gold medals in the 36th National Games held in Gujarat and 37th National Games, Goa would also be offered state government jobs suitable to them at different departments, the CM added.
