The voluminous 122-page coffee table book, being published by the Department of Information and Public Relations, presents an overview, valuable insight and achievements of the ‘Go to Village’ mission.
The book also includes a detailed report such as number of beneficiaries enrolled, total benefits provided, services yet to be delivered etc of each and every district of the State till now.
It also contains the success stories and experiences of the deputy commissioners of the districts of the State.
It may be mentioned that the ‘Go to Village’ initiative, first of its kind in the country, is the brainchild of the chief minister Biren Singh.
The mission was officially launched throughout the State in selected 60 villages of 16 districts in all the 60 constituencies on May 1 last year with the official launch at Konuma Ground of Laphupat Tera Komlakhong in Mayang Imphal.
The primary objective of such innovative mission is to reach out to the citizens and deliver good governance at their doorsteps. Such noble initiative ensures timely delivery of government services to eligible beneficiaries, redresses their problems in citizen friendly manner and provides spot solutions, on the same day, without any delay wherever possible.
Deputy directors (IPR), T Ramesh Singh and L Ashokkumar and other officials of Directorate of Information and Public Relations were present during the release function.
