Manipur: Assam Rifles recovers huge cache of arms, ammunition in Imphal

The troops of Assam Rifles have recovered arms and ammunition from Tmongbung village in Manipur’s Imphal district.

According to Assam Rifles, one AK-47, two CMGs, two 0.32 mm pistols, two 0.22 mm pistols, eight assorted magazines, thirty-six rounds of ammunition and explosives were recovered in a joint operation on Friday.

“Keithalmanbi Battalion of Assam Rifles on 11 June recovers one AK47, two CMGs, two .32 mm Pistol, two .22 mm Pistol, eight assorted magazines, thirty-six rounds and explosives from Tmongbung Village, Imphal District in Manipur,” Assam Rifles said in a tweet.

Earlier, the Assam Rifles apprehended one KNA (SoO Group) militant from Moreh Town and in a separate operation recovered one 9 mm pistol, two Chinese hand grenades and assorted ammunition near BP-76 at Moreh along the Indo-Myanmar border.
