An Army recruitment rally for the year 2018 was organized at Peace Ground at Churachandpur in Manipur by the Army Recruitment Office situated at Rangaphar from October 15 to October 23 under the aegis of Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifle by Khuga Battalion.
Till Saturday, the recruitment rally conducted for the candidates saw a strength of 1518 individuals, according to a press release issued by PIB of the Defence Wing.

The candidates were screened for their height followed by physical fitness tests which included 1.6 km run, chin-ups, nine feet ditch and high beam balance.
The 1.6 km running test was flagged off by Brigadier H R Desai, Commander of Churachandpur Sector as a mark of affiliation to motivate the local youths.
The Army Recruitment Rally is being conducted for the first time in the district on persistent efforts of Churachandpur sector after repeated requests of the locals.

The campaign was an opportunity to the Indian Army to reach out to the youths residing in remote and far-flung areas to wean away from insurgency, who reciprocated well, the press statement further added.
