An Anganwadi worker from Manipur’s Bishnupur district has died one week after she was administered a jab of Covishield vaccine.
48-year-old Naorem Sundari reportedly developed side effects after being administered the Covid-19 vaccine.
Family sources said Sundari received a shot of the Covid-19 vaccine on February 12.
A day after, she complained of fever and allergies.
Her health started deteriorating on Friday morning, following which he was shifted to a hospital at Moirang where she eventually succumbed.
Alleging the negligence on the part of the doctor, locals held a public meeting at Kumbi Lai Sandhong, demanding action against those responsible for her death, Indian Express reported.
Her mortal remains have been kept at RIMS mortuary, pending an autopsy.
The Moirang police have registered a suo motu case of medical negligence in the wake of the protest.
