Imphal: The Cyber Crime Unit of the Manipur Police has arrested a 23-year-old man, allegedly a volunteer of Arambai Tenggol (AT), a Meitei socio-cultural organisation, for his involvement in uploading and circulating inflammatory posts on social media to incite communal violence.

Police reported that a Facebook account named โ€œMeetei Nongsa Lamyanbaโ€ (Pioneer of the Meitei Lion) was found posting highly provocative content, including threats and calls for violence, with the potential to disturb public order.

The accused, Tensubam Lamyanba Meitei of Imphal East, was arrested in connection with the case. Police warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to incite violence or disrupt communal harmony. The investigation is ongoing.

While police continue efforts to maintain peace, it has been observed that certain groups, organisations, and individuals are circulating unsigned releases and statements on social media.

Several such unauthorised communications have the potential to create misunderstandings and foment enmity between communities.

The public has been strongly advised not to believe or forward such rumours and to remain vigilant against false or misleading images, videos, and messages. The authenticity of any content may be verified with the Central Control Room.
