Manipur’s premier talent hunt event christened as Ringui’s Got Talent (RGT) is coming up again this season.
It is being hosted under the aegis of the Dewdrops, a society formed by a set of young dynamic youths to promote the cause of youths.
According to organizers, the RGT 6 session will be started with the first round of audition at Classic Grande in Imphal on February 20 next.
It will be followed by another audition on February 22 at Ukhrul district headquarters, 84 km north east of Imphal and similar one on February 26 at Ringui village, about 50 km north of the state capital.
The opening of the RGT is scheduled to be held on March 12 evening and the grand finale of the talent show on March 14 night at Ringui village.
The RGT is a talent show that features singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers since 2012 and it will be opened to all Ukhrulites who wish to showcase their talents.
“The idea of holding such event in the State is to provide a platform to young talents of the indigenous community living here,” says the convenor A C Raising of organizing body of the Dewdrops.
“So that they can be groomed and give recognition to their talents,” Raising added.
Hoping that the contestants or participants will extend support in the initiative, he added that free lodging, food, transportation etc will also be provided.
He also informed that many NGOs and others extended the necessary help in the previous years.
But unfortunately there is no such support from the State Government till date, he lamented.
He expressed his desire to have some kind of support from the concerned authorities.
Sharing a similar feeling, Miss Spring 2019 title winner Chanchui Khayi (20) when sought her comment about RGT said such events will definitely help and provide the opportunity to the youths of the region to showcase their talents and activities in different aspects.
This Tangkhul belle from Tuinem (Teinem) village also appealed to the youths who wish to participate in the RGT to get well prepare well for ‘their journeys’.
