Imphal: Unknown armed men allegedly attacked the residence of renowned Manipuri film actor Rajkumar Kaiku alias Somendro in the wee hours on Saturday, a police report said.
The armed miscreants attacked the house of Kaiku located at Thangmeiband in Imphal West district at around 2 am on Saturday. One bullet hit the residential gate and another at the wall of his house.

After getting the information a team from the Lamphel police station rushed to the spot and collected the empty caches and a case has been registered in this regard.
The motive behind the attack is now under investigation, the police said.

Meanwhile, RK Kaiku appealed to the perpetrator(s) regarding the cause of the attacks on his residence.
He also stated that he has not so far any animosity with any individual or organization.
If there arises any doubtful nature on any issue related to him, anything can be settled through dialogues, Kaku said.

Meanwhile, the locals of the Thangmeiband areas strongly condemned the acts of the attackers on the residence of Kaiku stating that the firing of gunshots at the crowded places is the work of irresponsible fellows. However, no individual or outfit has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.
Additionally, Kaiku fought in the 18th Lok Sabha elections in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency as an independent candidate. The affidavit submitted by Independent candidate RK Somendro Singh alias Kaiku showed that he has around Rs 25,07,842.39 in movable assets with two vehicles, gold, and money in bank accounts. His wife has around Rs3,94,000 in movable assets.
Rajkumar Kaiku (born (1974-01-03) 3 January 1974 (age 50)) is an Indian actor who appears in Manipuri films. He has appeared in over 400 Manipuri films.
