Manipur: 47th foundation day of state’s biggest scribes’ body held

The 47th foundation day of the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU)- the biggest journalists’ body of the state- was celebrated on Wednesday.

On the occasion, a Journalist Memorial Pillar was also unveiled at the premises of the Manipur Press Club.

Remembering the deceased journalists of the state, the media fraternity of the state along with the families of the deceased scribes paid floral tributes as a mark of respect during the day-long observation.

Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand Singh, state education minister Th Radheshyam Singh and AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam were also present in the function.

Prizes for news/TV stories writing, photography contest held during ‘Media Campaign to Save Nambul’ on July 2 were also distributed to the journalists during the day-long celebrations.
