Imphal: Eighteen-year-old Gaichakliu Kamei from Manipur’s Tamenglong district has been crowned Femina Miss India Manipur 2027 at a ceremony held at Vivanta Guwahati on Sunday.
With the title, Kamei has secured the opportunity to represent Manipur at the upcoming Femina Miss India 2027 Grand Finale.
A member of the Zeliangrong Naga community, Kamei emerged as the winner during the regional Miss Northeast Diva auditions, which followed preliminary mega auditions held in Guwahati on October 26. She competed against other state finalists, including Alish Maibam and Zeneva Laikhuram.
The judging panel selected Kamei after assessing the contestants’ poise, dedication and performance.
A professional model with previous pageantry experience, Kamei also runs a social media platform focused on promoting youth empowerment and self-confidence among young women in her community.
According to the organisers, she has begun preparations for the national competition, where she will represent Manipur.
Her selection has drawn attention and encouragement from well-wishers across the region, with expectations building ahead of the national finale.
