One person sustained bullet injury at his left hand when a man opened fire from his license gun at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal on Thursday night.
This was conveyed by the Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh while presenting a report soon after the conclusion of the day’s Question and Answer Session of the State Assembly on Friday.

According to Chief Minister’s report, based on a police complaint, the incident took place when an unknown man fired a shot from his small gun while coming out of the Gaenecology ward around 10 pm.
The injured person has been identified as one Th Chinglemba of Heibongpokpi, who was attending his ailing wife at the ward.
Reports said the accused, who came to meet one lady patient at the ward, had confronted with a security guard of the hospital while entering into the ward prior to the incident.

The security guard of the hospital identified as one S Priyochand of Iram Siphai Maning Leikai has lodged a complaint at the Lamphel police station in connection with the incident.
Later, a police team arrested the accused identified as Th Romesh of Soibam Leikai at around 11.30 pm on the same day and recovered one .22 revolver, 7 live rounds,one empty case along with a license.
