Locally produced rice papad launched in Manipur

OK’s Rice Papad, a locally produced papad was formally launched at Tera Urak Industrial Estate in Manipur’s Bishnupur on Thursday, official sources in Imphal said.

Speaker Yumnam Khemchand Singh of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, director H Balkrisna Singh of Information and Public Relations department, wife of the Speaker Yumnam (O) Joybala Devi attended the occasion as presidium members in the day’s programme, according to a DIPR report.

In his speech, Speaker Khemchand said economy of a country cannot be based only on government.

Industry nourishes a nation’s economy.

So, to bring a better economy in the State, it needs to produce more number of entrepreneurs.

Khemchand appreciated and also wished the OK’s Papad proprietor for best selling of the newly launched rice papad.

Lourembam Orenkumar, proprietor of the Ok’s Rice papad, is confident that people will surely enjoy the papad with meals as well as consume as snacks.

ABN Enterprise is the sole distributor of the newly launched papad in the north-eastern region, he informed.

Deputy director L Ashokumar Singh of DIPR, entrepreneurs and staff of the industrial estate participated in the simple programme and all of them wore masks and kept social distancing to one another.

On the sidelines of the programme, Speaker Khemchand Singh also visited all the manufacturing units of the Industrial Estate,the report said.

He purchased ‘Disinfection Water’, manufactured by ‘Sahwa’ for use to fight against COVID-19 for an amount of Rs 2,50,000.
