With parties gearing up for the Assembly elections in Manipur, the parties have also started to intensify their attacks.

The Manipur Congress has accused the BJP-led government in the state responsible for the ‘collapse’ of law and order in the state.

“Law and order situation just collapsed under BJP government,” the Manipur Congress alleged.

The Congress also attacked the Biren Singh-led BJP Government in Manipur over the AFSPA issue.

“Why the BJP government failed to remove AFSPA despite making promises to do so?” questioned Manipur Congress general secretary Tilotama Loitongbam.

Meanwhile, the Manipur Congress has decided to include its commitment to repeal the AFSPA in its election manifesto.

“If Congress comes back to power in 2022, the 1st Cabinet meeting will decide on the immediate and complete removal of AFSPA from the entire state,” Manipur Congress leader Ningombam Bupenda Meitei had said.

“Repeal AFSPA” demand has been growing louder ever since the killing of 13 innocent nagaland civilians by commandos od the 21 para special forces in a botched counter-insurgency operation in Nagaland’s Mon district on December 4 last year.
