Guwahati: The Indian Army’s Spear Corps on Wednesday (March 8) celebrated the accomplishments of the talented youths of Manipur in an event held in the state’s Bishnupur district.
The event, graced by senior officers of the Indian Army and other dignitaries, highlighted the dedication of the students, teachers and parents, emphasising the Army’s support in nurturing the young talents of the state.

At the forefront of the accolades were six bright students from the Manipur Super 50 programme, who demonstrated their academic prowess by successfully clearing the highly competitive Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2024.
The students received well-deserved recognition for their dedication and hard work, which was further supported by the mentorship of the Army and the National Integrity & Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO), a Kanpur-based Non-governmental organisation (NGO).
In addition to academic achievements, the event also celebrated the success of four local Wushu players who have brought laurels to Manipur through their outstanding performances.

Tamphasana Devi, N Bidiyasagarh Singh, Koijam Yaisana Devi and A Gracy Devi, each a medalist in prestigious competitions including Khelo India (East Zone), North East Games, and the Sub Junior National Championships, were applauded for their exceptional contributions to the sport.
Among the other sports personalities who were honoured was Thomus Singh, whose remarkable resilience and determination after overcoming an accident during the Wushu Championships in February 2024, served as an inspiration to all those present in the event. His courage in the face of adversity epitomises the indomitable spirit fostered and encouraged by the Indian Army.
The event, organised by the Red Shield Centre for Wellness and Excellence, highlighted not only the achievements of these young individuals but also the collaborative efforts of teachers and parents in nurturing their talents.
