A CRPF jawan was killed and another one seriously injured when suspected militants triggered a blast in Manipur’s Imphal on Saturday evening.
Police officials said the blast took place around 6.30 pm at Nagampal area in Imphal. The killed jawan has been identified as Umesh N Helwar of Karnataka.
The injured CRPF jawan, identified as N Ramarajan of 109 battalion, has been admitted to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal.
Unidentified miscreants also triggered a powerful blast at a marketplace in Kangpokpi district on Friday.
The blast occurred near the post office at Kangpokpi Bazaar, under Kangpokpi police station. There was, however, no report of any casualty.
