With COVID cases in India on the rise at an unprecedented rate, the Congress party has decided to postpone its major rallies in all the election-bound states including Manipur.

The All-India Congress Committee (AICC) has asked the party units of the election-bound states to assess the COVID situation in their respective states and take a call on holding rallies.

“Congress has decided to postpone major rallies in the poll-bound states. We have asked state units to assess the COVID-19 situation in their states and take a decision on holding rallies,” Congress general secretary KC Venugopal told ANI.

Five states: Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa and Uttarakhand are scheduled to go to polls in the next couple of months.
