Sixteen (16) more persons tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking the overall tally in Manipur to 25.
Two patients have recovered and they have been released from the hospital last month. The number of active cases in the state stands at 23.
“Sixteen (16) persons, including six men and ten women, were confirmed positive out of 90 individuals, who were tested at the Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences,” informed additional health director Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
“All the positive cases are confined to the quarantine centres,” he further added.
The Manipur government, meanwhile, has decided to segregate the returnees from other inmates in the quarantine centres.
